Bio
Mr. Ajdler founded Engine Capital Management, LP in March 2013 and serves as its Managing Member and Portfolio Manager. Prior to founding Engine, he was a Partner at Crescendo Partners, a value-oriented activist investment firm. He has also served as an adjunct professor at Columbia Business School, where he taught a course on value investing. Mr. Ajdler began his career as a management consultant with Mercer Management Consulting and Boston Consulting Group.
Mr. Ajdler has served on the boards of numerous public companies, including Hill International (until its sale to Global Infrastructure Solutions), Recro Pharma, Stewart Information Services, Charming Shoppes (until its acquisition by Ascena Retail Group), Imvescor Restaurant Group, StarTek, Destination Maternity, O’Charley’s (until its acquisition by Fidelity National Financial), The Topps Company (until its acquisition by Madison Dearborn Partners), Rhapsody Acquisition Corp, and Arpeggio Acquisition Corporation.
Mr. Ajdler holds a B.Sc. in Mechanical Engineering from the Free University of Brussels (Belgium), an S.M. in Aeronautics from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, and an MBA from Harvard Business School.
